Ziggy's Eatery

July 05, 2014

Probably one of my favourite burger joints in Melbourne, specialising in gourmet burgers and dude food. Only about 3 minutes from Balaclava station, the famous Carlisle St greets you as walk past the graffiti clad walls in a somewhat residential/city hybrid of a suburb.

In typical Melburnian style, Carlisle Street is narrow in infrastructure packed with little independent boutiques, cafes, organic grocers (highly recommend Aunt Maggies) and eateries owned by people who are passionate about their business.

The foodie behind Ziggy’s is no exception. The owner’s youthful exuberance and passion is reflected through the food served at the joint. Menu is extensive, and customer service is prime. And we all know how important the fries have to be at a burger joint. Ziggy’s does not disappoint - smothered in their secret sweet and tangy sauce I assure that you will be in withdrawal for a few days at the very least.  For those who are social media savvy, if you instagram/facebook tag yourselves at the joint you are eligible for FREE fries (saves you $3-$4).

I’ve been there quite a few times now and the atmosphere is always so relaxed and casual. Though the café is a bit cramped in size  (my latest visit saw me sharing a table with some police officers and a bunch of 3 year olds), it’s a nifty way to socialise while you all induce yourselves into an evitable food coma.
