Audiences are set to be immersed in acrobatical wonder once again, as Quebec's travelling circus returns to Australia, with Melbourne performances scheduled from January 2015.  In an all-new tantalising Big Top production, Cirque du Soleil now celebrating its 30th year anniversary, presents TOTEM; a fascinating journey into the evolution of mankind.

Since its world premier in 2010, Cirque du Soleil's newest circus show has performed across 25 global cities, as audiences of over 3 million worldwide are left mesmerised by its awe-inspiring gymnastic performances.  Featuring a cast of over 45 acrobats, actors, singers and musicians, TOTEM illustrates the evolutionary process of species in an intimate show of hippodromic proportions.

Written and directed by multidisciplinary artist Robert Lepage, TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species, from original amphibian state to
the ultimate desire to fly.  Each character evolves on stage, evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations.

The creative team behind Cirque du Soleil continues to blow the minds of young and old with TOTEM's visually striking masterpiece filled with death-defying performances, dazzling costumes, dramatic lighting, and captivating music choices.  Through its visual acrobatic language in Cirque du Soleil's distinctive elaborate style, TOTEM receives world praise as one of Cirque's best productions.
