Located near Mt Eliza and Mornington, on the corner of Moorooduc Highway and Wooralla Drive, nestled in between Tully's Produce Store and Diacos Nursery, you will find a family friendly cafe that all the locals rave about.
The Apple Espresso, owned and managed by a warm and friendly Italian family, is filled with character and charm. Inside the cafe, you will find large timber tables, decorated with fresh flowers and decor is a sweet mix of vintage and rustic, with food produce crates, bottles and tins decorating shelves. There is a small sheltered courtyard with outdoor seating should you wish to dine in the fresh air.
Food here is outstanding; a mix of Italian cuisine as well as the usual breakfast and lunch choices you'd expect to find in a cafe. Customers are spoilt for choice with high quality, fresh locally sourced ingredients used in all dishes. Children are most welcome here, with plenty of treats to keep the young ones happy including gingerbread cookies and delicious gelato's.
Do check the specials board too. I chose a gnocchi dish with creamy pumpkin sauce topped with fresh parmesan cheese from the specials menu, which was quite possibly the best gnocchi I've tasted.
Whilst I do not drink it myself, I am told Apple Espresso coffees are fantastic, and I can certainly vouch for their delicious chai latte's. Milkshakes will keep the little ones happy.
Once you are done with your main meals, why not treat yourself to one of the cafe's delicious freshly baked muffins? After which, a visit to neighbouring Tully's Corner Produce Store is certainly worth doing to stock up on some of the freshest groceries you'll find in the area.
The Apple Espresso cafe does not have a website, but you can follow their Facebook page.
