The Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat is a popular destination for families with children, as the multiple mazes and gardens ensure an endless day of fun.
However, if you're travelling in a group of friends and you are a bit more of the adventurous type, then the Tree Surfing offered at the same location might just be for you.
If you've been to Tree's Adventures in Belgrave, these courses are not as hard, as the place is more children oriented. But if you have a fear of heights, this will still test your endurance and determination and I witnessed plenty of adults and couples stepping up to the challenge.
It essentially involves several aerial obstacle courses high above the ground and usually ends with a flying fox. You are always attached to the safety harness and line but it doesn't stop your mental doubts and fears.
There are five courses and you have two hours to complete as many as you like. Entry to both The Enchanted Maze and Tree Surfing for adults is $59, $39 for children. Adults will end up in the Grand Course whilst children from 4-10 years old are welcome to complete the Nippers Course. Children 4 and below are required to be accompanied by an adult.
The course often involves stepping between logs or ropes in mid air, or even crawling in shaky tunnels.
There is plenty to do at The Enchanted Maze, so before/after Tree Surfing make sure you check out the mazes and surrounds. The beautiful gardens and many other activities provide hours of entertainment whilst the Tree Surfing is a bonus for the more adventurous types.
