Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is fast approaching, where some of the city's established and emerging designers get to show off their latest collections to influential fashion bloggers and style lovers alike.
Melbourne's landmark dining and shopping destination Southgate is earmarked to celebrate in the fashion festivities with FREE exhibitions and displays of innovative emerging designers and the creative processes behind some of Melbourne's most loved fashion icons.
Nixi Killick Centre Stage exhibition

Fashion designer Nixi Killick has worked in collaboration with students from multi award winning Photography Studies College (Melbourne) to present a collection of Nixi's designs. The college's future photography stars capture Nixi's striking kaleidoscope of flouro colours through one-off prints displayed in the podium level alcove gallery at Southgate for the duration of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
Nixi's vibrant psychedelic coloured garments have been worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Kimbra, Hiatus Koyote and Lapalux of Brainfeeder and have featured on the runways of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, AWARE and iD Fashion week. Nixi also reached the world's top 100 independent designers list at at Italy’s ORIGIN PASSION & BELIEFS showcase.

Melbourne’s Next Bright Talents
Fashion college garment exhibition
Melbourne's up and coming fashion talent will be on display in an exhibition highlighting the most outstanding pieces from graduating students of five top fashion design schools: Melbourne School of Fashion, RMIT, Kangan Institute, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia and Box Hill Institute.
Within the exhibition will be designs from Chris Avery of Melbourne School of Fashion and his graduating menswear collection. Chris Avery liks to explore the relationship between tradtional and non-traditional dress to encourage individuals to dress to suit their personality rather than follow trends.
Concept to Creation: Icons of Melbourne Design
Where: Outdoor promenade exhibition, opposite Flinders St Station.
This unique exhibition on Southbank Promedade along the banks of the Yarra River will display design ethos and inspiration behind seven of the city's iconic designers. Get a sneak peak into the inspiration behind featured designers: Dom Bagnato, Gwendolynne, Richard Nylon, Feathers, Nicolangela, Tettmann Doust and Matcho Suba.
Here you will see each designer's Spring-Summer 2014 collection, and sneak a peak into their inspirations and individual personalities behind their overall brand's. Some of these designs will then come to life on runways over the course of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week.
